In conjunction with Pioneer Days, being held at the Colonel Davenport House on June 9 & 10, on Rock Island Arsenal Island, the museum will be open on Sunday, June10.  The museum is normally closed on Sundays. 

Please enter through the Moline gate to access the Island for both of these events.  Tell the guard at the gate you are there for the museum and Pioneer Days.

The Rock Island Arsenal Museum is the Army’s second oldest museum.  It first opened to the public on July 4, 1905.  The primary mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Rock Island Arsenal and Arsenal Island.  By focusing on “People, Processes, and Products,” the exhibits tell the story of the people involved in Arsenal Island’s history, the manufacturing processes used at Rock Island Arsenal, and the military equipment that was produced at Rock Island Arsenal.

The Rock Island Arsenal Museum is open to the public, Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. The museum is closed on Sundays, Mondays, Federal Holidays, the Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. A current photo ID is required for everyone age 18 or older. Please access Arsenal Island through the Moline gate. Foreign nationals must have a passport or alien registration card.
