MUSEUM WEEK EVENTS
On June 11 & 14 at 1:00 p.m., Join the River Music Experience on a trip up the Mississippi River as we explore the history of American Roots Music. The RME's River Currents Tours are a staple of our educational programs for kids and adults that come through the RME to learn about the evolution of American Roots Music. We do that by singing and talking about the music's history using the Mississippi River as our guide, covering Zydeco, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Country, and Rock n' Roll. We start in New Orleans and move all the way up to Minneapolis. Admission is FREE for your River Currents Tour!
ALSO - Now Showing in the Lobby:
Out Loud and In Print - 30 years of QC concert photography by John Greenwood of the Dispatch/Argus and John Schultz of the Times.
6 Kiosks of Multimedia Fun
Explore the innovators, styles and movement of the American songbook in ports of call from New Orleans to St. Paul and outward to Chicago and beyond. Watch Elvis, B.B. King and other icons come to life, as you trace the migration of music through the generations.
